Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to what prospective clients and candidates ask us most. If yours is not here, call the office.
Are you a lender or a mortgage broker?
No. Verano Lending Technology is a technology and consulting firm. We do not originate, broker, fund or service loans, we do not take consumer loan applications, and we never quote rates or terms. Our clients are lending institutions, and our work is on the systems and processes behind their operations.
Which origination platforms do you work in?
Our consultants work most often in Encompass, Empower, MeridianLink Mortgage, Byte and Calyx environments, alongside document, e-sign and pricing integrations. We are independent and take no vendor commissions; product names are the trademarks of their owners.
How much does an engagement cost?
Every statement of work is quoted after the free discovery call, because effort depends entirely on the state of your current configuration. Operations reviews and builds are fixed fee with milestone billing; advisory retainers are a monthly fee with thirty days' notice to cancel.
How quickly can you start?
Discovery calls are usually available within three business days. Operations reviews typically begin two to four weeks out, depending on consultant availability. We cap active engagements deliberately, so we occasionally have to give a later date rather than overload a consultant.
Do you work remotely or on site?
Both. On-site work across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties is routine, and we travel for major implementations. Reviews, builds and most training run equally well remotely, and many engagements are hybrid.
Who owns the documentation you produce?
You do. Configuration documentation, runbooks, report definitions and recorded walkthroughs are delivered to your team and are yours to keep, edit and redistribute internally without any ongoing licence to us.
What happens if the project runs long?
On fixed-scope work, that is our risk. If we underestimated the effort, we finish the deliverable at the agreed price. Additional cost arises only when you ask for something outside the written scope, and only after you approve it in writing.
Can you help with regulatory compliance?
We support compliance operationally — checklists, timing monitors, exception tracking, audit-ready reporting and evidence retention. We are not a law firm and do not give legal or regulatory advice; your counsel or compliance officer owns those determinations.
Do you sign confidentiality agreements?
Yes, as a matter of course, before discovery begins. We are happy to sign your paper or provide ours. Client names appear in public material only with written permission, which is why the reviews on this site are abbreviated.
Do you offer services to individual homeowners?
No. We work only with lending institutions, credit unions and servicers. If you are a consumer with a question about your own mortgage, please contact your loan servicer directly — we are not able to help and cannot access your loan.
